The Third Marxism & Psychology Conference Marxism and Psychology is the result of the initiative of a group of researchers who, despite their differences, share a foundation in the Marxist tradition. This group, after successive meetings at events and instances of different Psychology associations concluded that it would be interesting to create a space specifically dedicated to reflecting on the multiple possibilities resulting from the articulation between Marxism and Psychology; establishing or deepening networks of international cooperation and building research groups on Marxism and Psychology. The conferences that took place in the past helped to disseminate ideas, theories, and trends in Psychology that are inspired by or based on Marxism.

Since the initial idea, two international conferences have been held: the first took place from August 5th to 7th, 2010 in Canada, and the second took place from August 9th to 11th, 2012 in Mexico. The conferences brought together researchers from all continents, and part of the work and debates that took place at the events were published in different publications of two journals: Annual Review of Critical Psychology and Teoría y Crítica de la Psicología.

This year, in an effort to re-establish the network previously created, Brazil will host the third event.
