This topic will receive papers that relate Psychology and Marxism, focusing on debates about the Marxist contributions on science, method, ideology, alienation, emancipation, and others. It will also receive papers on contributions of psychological science to Marxist social theory.

Psychology and Marxism in Latin America: History, theory, method, and praxis

​Papers on the relationship between Psychology and Marxism in Latin America, contextualizing how this dialogue has contributed to engage psychological science in transforming the living conditions of Latin American peoples. Debates on how Marxism has influenced Psychology in its historical, epistemological, and methodological assumptions. The challenges that Psychology and Latin American societies have presented to Marxism. Possibilities and challenges of integrating Marxist-based psychologies in Latin America

Education and human development

​Debates on the study of human development from a Marxist perspective in Psychology, as well the educational processes that constitute psychological processes and phenomena. Papers on specific psychological processes of human development and its intersections with education (formal and informal).

Mental Health and working class

Debates about health and mental health from a Marxist perspective: (1) papers on Marxist and Psychological theories on Health and Mental Health; (2) analysis of the consequences of neoliberalism on health/illness processes; (3) discussions on professional practice in health and mental health fields.

​Marxism, Psychology and Oppressions: Race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and ableism

Papers that discuss the various forms of oppression and their relationship with capitalist domination in bourgeois society. Papers on the working class, ethnic-racial groups, gender relations, sexuality, ableism, LGBTQIAP+ groups, ageism and other oppressive processes. We also expect papers that reflect about oppressions and the ways in which Marxism presents to psychological practice forms of resistance, subversion and elimination of oppressions

Debates on postmodernity, decoloniality, and anticoloniality

This topic will receive papers of Marxist critique of postmodernity and decoloniality, considering problems such as: imperialism, historical meaning decolonial and anticolonial positions in Psychology, irrationalism and postmodernity.

Psychology, Marxism, and Social Policies

Debates on the relationship between Psychology and the Capitalist State focusing on how  social policies tackle “social issues” in different dimensions (social work, health, mental health, education, and others). Theoretical and epistemological discussions on social policies or studies and reports on experiences of Psychology with other workers

Work and Capitalism Today

This topic will receive papers on the transformations of labor relations in capitalism and the processes of working class exploitation. Debates on uberization and platformization of work; implications of technology in daily life; digital surveillance and data monetization; working conditions; relationships between work and health, and other topics related to labor relations in contemporary capitalism.

Critique of Psychology and Critical Psychology

Theoretical-epistemological discussions about Psychology as a science and profession. Papers of Marxist critique of professional training and the history of Psychology.

Violence, neofascism and the far right

Debates on the different expressions of neofascism and other far right populist ideologies today. The causes and consequences for the working class of social polarization today. Theoretical discussions, case studies, or researches on strategies of resistance and confrontation with fascism from a Marxist perspective.
